The first step is to create a conceptual design.
We paint with a wide brush to let your imagination fill in the details, inviting you into the creative process.

The Conceptual Design Phase brings the synergy of your vision and the creativity of our design staff to life.   Whether it’s a masterfully drawn concept, a computer generated concept, or a combination of both, the possibilities are endless. Before we develop a concept, we gather information about you, the project and the site.

Conceptual designs may go through several iterations before we arrive at a final concept. Aesthetic beauty and flawless function are at the heart of every design and intended to provide the space to create unforgettable memories and stunning visual pleasure. Once a final concept has been approved, we start the second phase of our work with you, which includes design development, the creation of computer generated drawings and consultation during the implementation phase.

The second step is the design development process. Here, our architects and technical design experts create the hardscape layout plans and construction details that show the materials, finishes, configuration, and dimensions of built landscape elements in detail. This phase includes hardscape design, landscape plans, lighting plans, and implementation services.

detail_design_leftBased upon the approved conceptual plan, we begin the Design Development phase. Here concepts are refined and we explore different ways to express the design, achieve your goals, and determine budget requirements. We discuss your preferences in patterns, color selection and materials. We synthesize all of the information to create the architectural hardscape, landscape and lighting plans for all exterior landscape features.

Finally, during the Implementation Phase, we prefer to work closely with our clients and the contractor to ensure the best execution.

Hardscape Design: Hardscape plans and construction details show the materials, finishes, configurations and dimensions of the designed landscape elements, including: paving patterns, materials for walkways and driveways, spa/swimming pool features, coping, finish and tile selections, water features, decks, columns, fences, gates, pergolas, fire bowls, and other features. Materials and specifications provided so your contractor has all they need to make your vision a reality.

Landscape Plans: Landscape plans follow the hardscape plans. The landscape plans show the location, name, size, quantities and specific requirements for all plant material based on the plans approved by you. These drawings are prepared at a sufficient scale to enable the material to be accurately located in the field. Materials lists, written specifications, and planting details explaining how the material is installed are included.detail_design_left_2

Landscape Lighting Plans: Lighting plans logically follow the planting solution. They show the location, type, height and intensity of all landscape lighting proposed for your property. These drawings are prepared at a sufficient scale so the light fixtures can be coordinated between the planting and electrical contractors and be accurately located in the field to produce the desired effect.

Implementation: The Implementation Phase includes professional services such as the issuance of plans and specifications to you and your contractor, reviewing and evaluating bids, review of shop drawings, field adjustments, site visits, progress assessment and contractor meetings.

A contractual agreement is required for Conceptual Design Services and Detailed Design Services
