COMPASSION

In 2002 KWD sponsored 16 children through Compassion.  The next year, KWD sponsored another 16 children simply by donating the funds that would have gone to holiday ‘thank you’ baskets.  Since 2002, we have continued our sponsorship of dozens of children through Compassion International.

Compassion provides children around the world with an opportunity to attend or stay in school, access to medical care, nourishing food, and mentoring through a local evangelical church.  Compassion is a child-advocacy ministry, pairing compassionate people with children living in extreme poverty to release children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty.

We are blessed and honored to have the ability to support Compassion.  A special thank you to the late Arlene Wieland, aka “Grammy,” who faithfully wrote to ALL of the KWD Compassion children until her passing in 2022. Arlene’s incredible dedication enriched the lives of countless children!

PROVIDING SANCTUARY

KWD Landscape Architecture designed the landscape and hardscape for a warm and inviting open place with a unique outlook on design intent for childrens’ recreational activity.

KidSanctuary Campus is a charitable organization in Palm Beach County committed to assisting children who have been removed from their homes because of abuse, neglect or abandonment. KidSanctuary Campus brings in expert, professional foster parents who raise the children living in our homes. They provide comfort, security and consistency. It is often the first time these children are in such a safe, structured environment. They may stay until reunited with their parents or they are adopted by a family.

We are the land of the free because of the brave, and KWD Landscape Architecture is honored to support those who have given of themselves so freely to serve and protect our great nation. K9s for Warriors is the nations largest provider of service dogs for veterans, and they are determined to end veteran suicide. K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs coming from high-kill rescue shelters, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
